Mike Slease of the Augusta Regiment or 3rd Battalion Pennsylvania Regiment (F & I), passed away yesterday. Mike was one of the nicest guys there was . Always quick to help, instruct, mentor, and give his frank opinion. Truly a leader and friend. He will be sorely missed.

I guess the last time I saw him in person was at Ticonderoga in 2008. Doesn't seem all that long ago, but I guess it is. He had told me a number of times that I should come to the Pittsburgh area and he would show me all the historic sites. I never seemed to have the time. Now, I really wish I had made the time. I guess it will be my loss. I will miss him.

Damn shame.

First time I met Mike was at a CoHT gathering in Feb '06.

Good people, he was.

The next dram is for you, Mike. See you on the other side.

I met Mike years ago through John getz. I could go on with hilarious stories about Mike for hours, quite the comedian. RIP T-Rex
