Med. 6-1/2" L-Cross English scalper SOLD

Postby Ken Hamilton » Tue Nov 07, 2017 6:51 am

Hello,
This offer is for a medium sized L-Cross English scalper. NEW PRICE This extremely sharp 6 -1/2" blade is completely hand forged and has an "L-Cross" makers stamp on the left side. A real Frontier classic. SOLD

Although it may well be a more ancient mark, at least one example of a such marked blade was reported found at Michilimackinac (see Stone's Book), although I have never seen the blade. Because the fort was dismantled and abandoned in 1781, it is a Revolutionary War find and was a N.W Co location as well as a Crown military post. We know this mark became extremely popular after ca. 1800 and was possibly THE MOST RECOGNIZABLE mark on the Frontier in it's time!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THis one is straight backed (more common on later designs) and has a FULL WIDTH, half tang. The 4" handle is smooth faceted, beautiful reddish COCOBOLO rosewood with the typical three pins.

Comes with a simple, hard leather, back seam sheath with "open Celtic knot" motifs.

New Price.
To your door for $100..............was $110 SOLD SOLD
Remember %5 goes to J Hagee from FF.
Paypal preferred
Please confirm your request by regular e-mail first...................@:

I will gladly e-mail an image to any serious inquiry.

Thank you,
